The first application of ShockLock’s technology is to address the problem of worn out gas-charged lift supports on vehicles - commonly found in hoods, trunks, and windows. Lift supports hold a reservoir of compressed gas which escapes over time, thus reducing the functionality and safety of the support. ShockLock has developed a design which increases the functionality and longevity of lift supports. The automatic locking feature enables vehicle hatches to be secured at varying heights.
