We create a modular platform that encourages children in public school and high-school to experiment with smart structures using an easy to learn, graphical interface. Smart structures are equivalent of a skeleton for embedded computing. Sensors & motors attached to these easily configurable structures allowing experimenters to change the physical world. STEAMBlocks (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) is a set of beautiful electronic blocks that click together, so you can easily create smart projects controlled by an elegant touch-based application. There is a Core Module (STEAM Core) that connects to a smart-phone, tablet or computer with Bluetooth Low Energy. Our application will guide the user step by step (in a story mode) on how to build and play with electronic modules while learning basic programming and electronics concepts.
